THE LASS O' GOWRIE.
The first stanza of the present form of this old Scottish song, which was a great favorĀite with our forefathers, was written by Lady Nairne, and the remaining ones seem to be altered from a song written by William Eeid, entitled " Kate o' Growrie." The air is an adaptation from a favorite old melody, " Loch Erroch Side," for which Mr. Reid's words were written. |
